Our Alaska Adventure Ends - Weeks 14 and 15

Tok Alaska was our last night staying in Alaska but it would not be our last visit to Alaska. SInce Larry was having problems with his leased server crashing every few days, he wanted to get back to the lower 48 to get this issue resolved. He needed fast, reliable Internet access. Our return trip through Canada was a little quicker than originally planned. We crossed into Canada's Yukon Territory o...

Telemetry Displayed on Aerial Video

Drone Telemetry
I was learning and testing the use of Dashware software with APM telemetry logs synced and overlapped on an aerial video. This video was shot at a overnight stop near Destruction Bay in British Columbia, Canada. Filmed using a 3DRobotics Iris+ and GoPro Hero 3+.Dashware lets you read a telemetry data file and sync it with a video. You can then overlay "gauges" on your video to show the telemetry d...

Burns Lake Municipal Campground, B.C., Canada

Burns Lake, B.C, Canada
During our return trip from Alaska, we stopped for the night at the Burns Lake Municipal Campground in British Columbia, Canada. This is a free city operated campground on the lake. There's a 3 night stay limit. This is a very nice little park. We arrived around 2:00pm and were the only campers there. There's about 7 sites available, and room for a couple more RV's in the parking lot. A few hours ...

Alaska Adventure - Weeks 11, 12 and 13

From our last post we were still in Fairbanks for another 5 days. We didn't sit around doing nothing, we knew of some Boomer RV friends who were coming into Fairbanks and we arranged a trip to Chena Hot Springs, which is about 50 miles northeast of Fairbanks (July 29). This was one of my must see and do items on our Alaska trip. We started off our visit purchasing our tickets for their Ice Museum....

Alaska Adventure Weeks 9 and 10

While we enjoyed our free camp site at Peterson Lake, it was time to move on. We headed back to Anchorage for a couple nights (July 13th - 14th). We stayed in the Sam's Club parking lot, allowing us to restock on groceries and do laundry. On our last night we enjoyed another Boomer get together. 12 of us met at a restaurant close by for more travel story swapping. Refueled and ready to continue on...
