June 2006 Travel Log

6/30/06: Keystone, SD: It's been another enjoyable and relaxing week as we drove to our summer workamper positions. We stopped for a couple nights in Cheyenne, WY (FE Warren AFB) to visit Connie's niece, Kari and her family. It was a bit strange to see how the AFB and Cheyenne has changed over the years. FE Warren AFB was our first assignment in the USAF, over 28 years ago. I still think this is o...

July 2006 Travel Log

7/31/06: Keystone, SD: Well, we've survived a month here! All of a sudden yesterday, life got more entertaining here. a dozen or more hummingbirds suddenly appeared and are putting on a show for us. Actually, they're fighting for possession of the few hummingbird feeders out. We've had one large one out since we've been here, and they still haven't found it (yet). August 2006 Travel Log

8/31/06: Keystone, SD: Yesterday, our 2nd day off for the week, we just spend around the house relaxing with hobbies. Connie spent most of the day filling the home with tantalizing aromas. Although she ...

September 2006 Travel Log

9/28/06: Keystone, SD: We only have a little over 2 weeks left here. I'm ready to get moving again. Partly because work is getting fairly boring, partly to see different areas, and partly to see our daughters and grand-daughter again. It's supposed to be slow season, but we have any tour busses spending the night. This sounds contradicting. How can we be busy, yet bored? Tour busses are easy to ha...

October 2006 Travel Log

10/31/06: Apache Junction, AZ: A few days ago, we moved the short distance to Las Vegas, NV. We stayed at the Nellis AFB campground and (sort of) got lucky. This is a very busy RV park, where reservations are needed to get a FHU site. We arrived and got the last partial site. This site was a bit cramped and had electric and water. The problem was, they share hookups and the 30amp circuit was taken...
