Started Summer Jobs in Colorado

Connie and I have started our summer jobs in the White River National Forest in Colorado. This is our 10th year working with CLM Services. It's a great company to work for. Larry's an "Operations Manager" again and Connie is his "Administrative Assistant". We'll be here for about 5-6 months. We're staying in Heaton Bay Campground located on Lake Dillon, near Dillon and Frisco, CO. The lake is star...

Boondocking at the Trona Pinnacles

After leaving Seal Beach, CA, Connie and I headed to the Mojave desert for some peace and quiet away from the Los Angeles traffic. We had 2 weeks before we needed to be in the Sequoia National Forest for a manager's meeting for this summer's seasonal work. We enjoy Southern California (we both grew up here), but g...

Borrego Springs Rock Art

One of our favorite RV boondocking locations is near Borrego Springs, CA. (33.296993, -116.28595) This is free camping a few miles from town. It's fairly quiet here and we can get 3G Verizon. If you like the desert, there's plenty of hiking and 4WD trails in the area. Friends had told us about some "rock art" in the hills near where we camped. We sent the drone out to locate them and get an aerial...

My Entry into the 3DR Solo Video Competition

The 3DR Solo Owners Group on Facebook usually hosts a monthly video competition of videos taken with the 3DR Solo. Back in June 2015, I won first prize for a photograph I entered into the 3DR Iris Photo competition. My entry into this month's video competition added a little humor about a upcoming fictitous feature to be added to the application (Solo App) used to fly the 3DR drone. Here's the vid...
